The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is pleased to welcome back Randa Dafalla, M.B.B.S., who joined the department in July 2024 as a Molecular Pathology Fellow and now rejoins as an Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Dafalla earned her medical degree from the University of Khartoum in Sudan and went on to complete her residency in Pathology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she also served as Chief Resident. She then completed a fellowship in Hematopathology at UNC before starting her current fellowship in Molecular Pathology.

Her previous experience includes work as a Pathology Assistant with siParadigm Diagnostic Informatics in New Jersey, research at Duke University Medical Center, and clinical practice as a General Practitioner in Abu Dhabi and Sudan. Dr. Dafalla is board-certified by the American Board of Pathology and brings a wealth of clinical, research, and teaching experience to her role at UNC.
