Liz Hutchins, MS
PPMH Project Manager
About
Liz Hutchins joined the Program for Precision Medicine in Health Care (PPMH) as Project Manager in March 2023. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Anthropology from UNC Chapel Hill in 2013, and her master’s degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from UNC Chapel Hill in 2020.
Liz joined the UNC Genetics Department in 2018, where she did her master’s research studying the genetic regulation of vitamin D metabolism. After graduating, she stayed in the department, continuing genetic research and operating as lab manager to Dr. Folami Iderabbdullah. Within PPMH, Liz’s project management duties span across all eight initiatives, with the main goal of driving the program forward as a whole. With a wet bench background, management experience, and a strong desire to help bridge gaps between research and health care, she brings a fresh perspective to research implementation. In her spare time, you can find Liz throwing clay on the pottery wheel or in nature with her dogs.
