Alabama Stone is EPI-NC’s Peer Support Program Director. She is a person with lived experience of both navigating and working in mental health systems. Her interests in different understandings of psychosis, de-criminalization of mental health, implementing psychiatric harm reduction, and empowering the peer workforce, have shaped her goals of program development and implementation and accepting different ideas of “recovery.” She is passionate about supporting and promoting the peer workforce through advocacy and training. Alabama believes in the healing power of community and strives to make peer support a celebrated and valued part of Coordinated Specialty Care programs.
