Summary

aPlus+ Attendance is a comprehensive and user-friendly software designed to simplify attendance tracking for students at the School of Medicine. Kiosks located in each classroom allow students to easily record their attendance by simply scanning their UNC One Card. This streamlined process not only saves time but also ensures accurate attendance records. Additionally, the integration with Canvas allows students to conveniently review their attendance for each course alongside other materials, helping them to stay organized and engaged in their studies.

To record your attendance with an Attendance Kiosk you will need to scan your One Card using the attached card reader.

After scanning your One Card, a message will appear confirming a successful scan:

If there was a problem with the scan, you will instead see an error message:

If you receive an error, please try again using the active version of your One Card and make sure it is separate from any other cards or badges that may be picked up by the reader.

*Important Notes: 

  • Only One Cards will be recognized by the kiosks. SOM badges will not work.  
  • There are two versions of the One Card: physical and mobile. Only one can be active at a given time. (One Card Resources) 

To view your attendance for a given course, navigate to that course’s Canvas Page and select the aPlus+ Attendance option on the left.

This will show a summary of your attendance record for the course, displayed as a ratio of class sessions for which you were marked as attended compared to the total number of class sessions that have occurred up to the current date.

Clicking the name of the course will expand the panel, providing a more detailed view of the attendance record. This view shows the attendance status for each session, organized by date.
