What WiFi is available to me on campus?

eduroam is the preferred network to use on campus as it is the most widely available with the highest prioritization.

For devices that cannot connect to eduroam for one reason or another, students can register their laptop and make use of the UNC PSK network.

A guest wireless network (UNC-Guest) is also available in many locations, however this network is not prioritized and may be more slow or inconsistent with connections. It also is restricted from accessing any campus resources (including Canvas, Heelmail, and network storage).

How do I connect to eduroam?

Comprehensive instructions are available in the ITS Help Site. Below are some quick explainer videos.

Do I need to re-register if my devices are already setup for eduroam?

If you were previously a UNC student, your access may have been maintained, however, registrations only last for four years. To get a fresh four year clock, we’d recommend re-registering.

While you may have used this at previous institutions and may find yourself able to get to some websites with that connection, you will need to register on UNC’s network to access all resources you will need.
