What were you looking for in a residency program?
The camaraderie with co-residents, a supportive and family-like atmosphere. Opportunities to pursue both clinical and research goals and the option to determine my own career path. Attending’s invested in the mentorship and development of residents as surgeons
Favorite memory of the intern year
Boating on Jordan Lake with my co-interns. Friday’s on the Front Porch with my co-interns after a long week. The call night in the winter that the heater broke and the AC wouldn’t shut off in the intern workroom and we all wore parkas and gloves and drank tons of coffee to stay warm, you could see our breath it was so cold. A nice maintenance man came and fixed it for us in the morning.
