What were you looking for in a residency program?
A strong balance of early operative exposure, direct clinical care, and academic activities to further strengthen my surgical fund of knowledge.
What inspired you to become a doctor/surgeon?
I was an artist growing up and knew that my creative interests could be beneficial to people who needed intricate surgical interventions. The more I appreciated the “art of surgery” the more I knew that this was the field I could combine my interests and passions to provide quality healthcare for my patients.
Favorite thing about UNC?
The bond between the surgery residents–both within the hospital and outside.
Favorite Surgery?
Abdominoplasty.
Fun Fact
I have two Siberian Huskies who love to go on hikes, runs, and swims on the beach.

Exploring the new cities and surrounding areas of “The Triangle” with my co-residents. Artist with interest in all media (favorites are pastels or watercolor/ink). Trying new restaurants with my wife (I love Italian and Mediterranean). Enjoying SEC football with friends. Aspiring golfer in what free-time I can find.
