Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Coward on his recent selection to the 2020-2021 AUA Leadership Program. This highly competitive program identifies urologists who have demonstrated effective leadership skills within organized medicine and the community.

Designed as a pipeline program to larger leadership roles within the AUA and beyond, since 2004 only 147 AUA members have matriculated through the program.

Key features of the program are the special opportunities to not only enhance leadership capabilities but to network and grow more acquainted with all that the AUA has to offer.

The program is currently slated to kick off at the 2020 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC this spring with special programming at the AUA Headquarters later this summer.

“I’m humbled to be considered for this incredible opportunity. The AUA is dedicated to advancing the highest standards of urological clinical care through education, research, advocacy, and policy. Through the AUA Leadership Program, I hope to learn new ways to serve the AUA and to gain the tools and perspective to be a more effective leader at UNC, in our local community, and nationally.”

Three individuals from the Western, North Central, South Central, and Southeastern AUA Sections are chosen to participate and two individuals from New York, New England, Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic AUA Sections are chosen.
