On Sunday, May 15, 2011, Dr. J. Patrick Selph participated in the moderated poster session “Penis/Testis/Urethra: Benign and Malignant Disease”. His poster “A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of dorsal penile nerve block (DPNB) prior to penile prosthesis implantation for post-operative pain control.” was chosen as the Best Poster of the session. Authors of the abstract/poster study results are Drs. J. Patrick Selph, Joshua Langston, Sachin Vyas, Mathew Raynor, Angela Smith, Sharon Kapeluk and Culley Carson. Dr. Selph’s poster was displayed in the Best Poster section for the remainder of the AUA.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the annual AUA Awards Dinner, Dr. Culley Carson III was presented the “Distinguished Contribution Award”, presented annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the science and practice of urology, including, but not limited to, contributions made in a subspecialty area, for military career service or for humanitarian efforts. Dr. Carson received this award for his outstanding contributions to the understanding and management of the urological aspects of sexual medicine.
