We are proud to announce that UNC Urology and Pediatric Urology have once again been recognized among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report in its annual “Best Hospitals” rankings for 2025–2026. UNC Urology is ranked #31 nationally, and Pediatric Urology at North Carolina Children’s Hospital is ranked #32 out of nearly 5,000 hospitals nationally evaluated by U.S. News & World Report.

This prestigious recognition underscores UNC Urology’s ongoing commitment to excellence in patient care, cutting-edge research, and outstanding medical education. Notably, this marks the fourth time in the past five years that Urology has been nationally ranked, highlighting the consistent dedication to quality and innovation.

UNC Hospitals earned national recognition across four adult specialties this year—Cancer (#48), Ear, Nose & Throat (#44), Rehabilitation (#46), and Urology (#31). Additionally, North Carolina Children’s Hospital at UNC was nationally ranked in nine pediatric specialties, including Pediatric Urology (#32).

The nationally-ranked Cancer specialty (#48) further emphasizes UNC’s excellence in comprehensive cancer care, a significant portion of which includes the work of UNC Urology.

The adult Urology program achieved a remarkable overall score of 70.1 out of 100, earning high marks for patient survival, patient experience, nurse staffing, advanced technologies, and high volume of challenging cases. UNC Urology was also recognized as “High Performing” in Prostate Cancer Surgery, demonstrating excellence in surgical outcomes, procedural safety, and patient satisfaction.

Pediatric Urology at North Carolina Children’s Hospital achieved an impressive score of 63.6 out of 100, excelling in infection prevention, speed in treating critical conditions such as testicular torsion, nurse staffing quality, advanced technologies, and comprehensive family support services.
