Carmen is currently a graduate research assistant at the Department of Allied Health Sciences and joined the project in February of 2016. She is a 2013 and 2014 graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in Psychology (B.A)  and Child Studies with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis (M.Ed). Carmen is currently studying to become a licensed psychologist through UNC Chapel Hill’s School Psychology program in order to work in the field of autism, developmental disabilities, and severe behavior disorders. Prior to coming to UNC-Chapel Hill, Carmen worked as a behavior therapist implementing skill acquisition programming for children with autism in the home, school and clinic setting. Carmen also has experience implementing behavior reduction programming for children with disabilities who engage in severe behavior. In the future, she hopes to continue to be involved in both research and practice that improves the lives of families of children with developmental disabilities.
