    Student Essay Competition Announced
    The Bullitt History of Medicine Club is pleased to announce The McLendon-Thomas Award in the History of Medicine, a new essay competition open to all UNC-Chapel Hill students in the health sciences. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2008. For further information, please see the competition guidelines.

    Mission: The Bullitt History of Medicine Club promotes the understanding and appreciation of the historical foundations upon which current medical knowledge and practice is constructed, by encouraging social and intellectual exchanges between faculty members, medical students, and members of the community.

    Meetings: Bullitt Club meetings are held in collaboration with the Duke Trent History of Medicine Society. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month. The location will alternate between the Duke University Medical Library and the UNC-Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library.

    Time: Meetings will begin at 5:30 PM with a light dinner buffet. Presentations will begin about 6:00 PM.

    As in previous years, meeting dates that conflict with Tarheel or Duke home basketball games will be rescheduled for the following Tuesday.
