Research
The strengths of the UNC-Dermatology team of NIH-funded investigators are comprised of three important areas of research: a) Human autoimmunity, b) Epidermal cell biology and c) Melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. In 2009 the UNC Dermatology Department ranked 10th among U.S. academic departments receiving NIH grants to conduct biomedical research. Research opportunities are offered to young physicians and basic scientists interested in careers in dermatological research.
