The VP of Educational Development serves as the student representative for the Office of Education Development. The main responsibility of this position is to organize focus groups for the second year class and serve as the liaison between course directors and student focus group members. He or she also organizes the MS1 focus groups until the assistant VP of Education Development is elected. In addition, the VP of Educational Development records minutes at the focus group meetings then posts them on the forum and forwards them to the curriculum chair. He or she also attends the curriculum committee meetings for MS2s and presents the gathered feedback to all the course directors. Furthermore, the VP of Education development works with the VPs of curriculum affairs to help bring about changes to the curriculum as suggested by student feedback. Finally, he or she coordinates student input to the Liaison Committee for Medical Education for UNC re-accreditation as needed and during the routine reaccreditation process.
