Liane Holliday Willey, EdD, is an author, educator, and internationally recognized advocate for autism awareness, particularly in women and girls. Diagnosed with Asperger syndrome as an adult, she helped redefine public understanding of autistic women through her groundbreaking memoir Pretending to Be Normal and her influential works Asperger Syndrome in the Family: Redefining Normal and Asperger Syndrome in the Safe, Perfectly Good Female Life. Blending lived experience with scholarship, Dr. Willey’s writing illuminated masking, identity, and resilience long before these conversations were mainstream. She continues to mentor, speak, and write, expanding her work into historical fiction while remaining rooted in advocacy.
