Join the UNC CFAR and the NIH in honoring National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on February 7th! Since 1999, this day has highlighted the importance of community engagement and improved access to HIV education, prevention, testing, and treatment services. While progress have been made in the areas of prevention, care, and treatment, HIV/AIDS continues to disproportionately impact Black and African American individuals. This day raises awareness of the continued work that is needed to improve access to prevention and care and reduce health disparities related to HIV. Use the hashtag #NBHAAD on social media to learn more and honor the day.
