About

Adams Sibley, PhD, MPH is a postdoctoral fellow at the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center’s Opioid Data Lab. His research examines substance use stigma, harm reduction, and the unregulated drug supply, with particular expertise in rural communities and marginalized populations. Dr. Sibley’s conceptual work grounds stigma in the social identity approach and critical discourse theory. He developed and tested Project RESTART, a text message intervention for stigma resistance among people who use drugs.
