About

Anaxue ‘Xue’ Mullane recently committed to UNC Gillings for her MPH with a concentration in Health Behavior! She graduated from NC State University in May 2024 with degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Women, Gender & Sexuality studies, but has a specific research interest in sexual health among vulnerable groups. For the past 2 years, she was an undergraduate research assistant in the Teen Health Lab at NC State researching and improving sexual health outcomes among adolescents through evidence-based interventions. Most of Xue’s qualitative research experience has consisted of transcribing, coding, and interpreting qualitative data, and she is eager to learn and gain more experience! She has transcribed and coded numerous interviews for a study examining the socialization of race within mixed-race families. She has also completed analyses from focus groups that she helped facilitate (two with youth in foster care and one with college students) to assess and implement suggestions for a Health Education and Relationship Training (HEART) intervention. Additionally, she has evaluated, done content analysis, and determined acceptability of sex education books for teens.
