Dr. Dellon is an Associate Professor of Medicine and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Epidemiology. He trained in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and then completed the training program in gastroenterology and epidemiology at UNC. He joined the UNC GI faculty in 2008. He is a member of the Center for Esophageal Diseases and Swallowing, with research interests in esophageal diseases, and eosinophilic esophagitis in particular. He has multiple active protocols studying the epidemiology, diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment of EoE. He collaborates with allergists, pediatric gastroenterologists, pathologists, and epidemiologists at UNC, throughout the US, and around the world. He has obtained funding from NIH, AGA, ACG, CURED Foundation, UNC, and a number of industry sources. He is also interested in advanced endoscopic techniques and endoscopic outcomes research.
