Research Summary
Joseph Galanko serves as the lead statistician for the CGIBD. He is also the biostatistician for the NIH-funded UNC Nutrition and Obesity Center. Dr. Galanko has been the longtime statistician for the Center. In that capacity, he has collaborated and published with the largest number of CGIBD members. He oversees data collection and validation services, performs study randomizations, consults with investigators with regard to their statistical needs, writes analysis plans, performs a wide range of statistical analyses, communicates the results to investigators and assists in the preparation of reports and manuscripts for publication. He also provides consultation and training to postdoctoral trainees and physicians.
Relevance of Research to CGIBD Mission: Dr. Galanko is the CGIBD biostatistician. He collaborates with most of the members who are conducting clinical/translational research.
