Research Summary
Nicholas Shaheen is an academic gastroenterologist, Professor of Medicine at UNC, and the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has formal research training and practical experience in clinical epidemiology, clinical and translational research, and clinical trial design. He is also the PI of UNC’s CTSA, the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute (NC TraCS). He has extensive experience mentoring medical students, junior faculty, and graduate students in clinical research. He is also engaged as PI in multiple federally funded studies of Barrett’s esophagus, providing opportunities for Center collaborations.
