Dr. Rieder’s focus is in the field of pathogenesis and prediction and trial endpoints of intestinal fibrosis. He has experience with primary human cell isolation and culture systems (endothelial cells, mesenchymal cells, immune cells, epithelial cells, preadipocytes/adipocytes) as well as   animal models of intestinal fibrosis, including TNBS- and DSS-induced fibrosis. Dr. Rieder has designed and pursued prospective studies of diagnostic testing, cohort studies for biomarkers of complicated inflammatory bowel disease and retrospective chart review studies in the area of IBD. His life-time vision is to impact the field of intestinal fibrogenesis through by delivering a novel anti-fibrotic approach into a clinical setting.
