Francisco A. Sylvester, MD

Research Summary

Francisco Sylvester is a translational scientist with expertise in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). His laboratory focuses on how chronic intestinal inflammation affects the skeleton in growing children. He is an active clinician who cares for over 400 children with IBD. He is the chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology where he is involved in recruiting, supporting and retaining pediatric gastroenterologists who contribute to the mission of the CGIBD. Dr. Sylvester is well known nationally in the pediatric IBD community.
