Dr. Moran is a pediatric allergist and immunologist, specializing in the study of the relationship among environmental factors and allergies, airway inflammation and asthma. He uses murine models and human cells to study signals between the environment and airway lining to determine:
- How allergic diseases, such as asthma, develop and change over time.
- Why some children with no family history of allergies develop allergic disease.
- How environmental factors and allergens impact mechanisms that cause airway inflammation and asthma.
- What molecules are involved in the development of asthma, to control or prevent asthma.
