As part of the UNC System, we are committed to provide these services to the people of North Carolina. We are the institution that prepares the physicians for the future. Our department has been training outstanding dermatologists for over 50 years. We provide dermatological care for a variety of skin diseases that range from common conditions to those that may be rare and life threatening.

You will be evaluated by a team of skillful clinicians. Some of them are listed as the Best Doctors in America. Our faculty includes renowned experts in melanoma, other skin cancers, psoriasis, pediatric dermatology, lupus, autoimmune blistering diseases and dermatopathology.

What makes our clinical practice different from private multispecialty groups? We are an academic referral center and we have experience with managing the most complicated cases. We are often the last resource for patients who have conditions that are challenging to diagnose and treat. Furthermore, we provide dermatological care during your visit to our offices and after office hours as well. We have physicians in our practice covering urgent questions in the evenings and on weekends. We are a dermatology service, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Although emergencies in dermatology are unusual, we are here to assist you if they occur.

To our referring physicians: We offer dermatopathology and immunofluorescence consultation services for skin biopsy specimens. We also offer general dermatology consultations along with consultations in our specialty clinics, including pediatric dermatology, immunodermatology, psoriasis, laser, cosmetic, and cutaneous oncology.
