Cutaneous lymphomas are types of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma which originate in the lymphocytes (white blood cells) and develop primarily in the skin. Mycosis fungoides is the most common type of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), although there are other types of T-cell and B-cell neoplasms that originate in and involve the skin. Most cutaneous lymphomas are slow growing and remain limited to the skin. However, rarely these diseases can progress to involve the blood, lymph nodes, or other tissues and can represent a significant threat to a patient’s health. In such cases, a multidisciplinary team is often assembled to care for the patient, which may include medical oncologists or radiation oncologists in addition to your dermatologist. We look forward to caring for you.
