My name is Magdalena Araya. I was an intern for the 2020 ISHTaR program during my junior year of high school, and I am currently a neuroscience major here at UNC Chapel Hill. I am also on the pre-med track because I’d like to attend medical school after I graduate, but I am still figuring out what I would like to specialize in. I am also interested in chemistry research, and outside of school my hobbies are boxing, swimming, reading (mostly fiction), cooking & baking, and just any craft. I am very grateful for the ISHTaR program, and even though our internship’s summer was full of limitations due to COVID, I had a great time where I learned a lot about research in emergency medicine, as well as I had the opportunity to get in contact with and learn from the experience of several professional in diverse areas of medicine.
