Physician, Good Samaritan Health of Cobb County
I decided to train in Preventive Medicine when I learned the specialty would allow me to pursue my interests in patient care, public health, and cancer research. The Preventive Medicine program at UNC allowed me opportunities to engage in activities to nurture all of my interests and interact with leaders in the field, fully equipping me for the career path I chose. Patient-care training at a FQHC and Health Department during residency thoroughly prepared for clinical positions at safety-net clinics after residency. I also used the knowledge and skills I gained during training in a primarily research role at the National Cancer Institute. In essence, my preventive medicine background allows me to combine my interests to make a unique contribution any organization.
