The Faculty Development Fellowship, directed by Tommy Koonce, MD, MPH, hosted a CME event that also took place on March 2nd. From Dawn Morriston, MPH, Associate Director of Educational Programs:
We invited the classes of 2020 and 2021 to learn about creating safe and inclusive learning environments alongside the current fellows. It was wonderful to have some alumni from each class make the trip to Chapel Hill, since both groups graduated virtually during COVID. Some traveled from as far away as Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia! The Safe and Inclusive Learning Environments session was taught by Jen Martini, MD and one of the fellowship alumni currently at MAHEC, Michelle Boose, MD, MPH. Facilitating networking among these future leaders and having our current fellows participate in a full week of in-person learning after two years of virtual delivery, was invigorating.
