Preventive Medicine Co-Chief, Dr. Sara Helvey, MD, MBA, will be moderating a talk on “The economic and social impact of abortion restriction in the US and the effect on maternal health outcomes and mortality” at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting and Expo in Atlanta, GA, Nov 12-15. The panel consists of faculty and community members from across the south, including our own Dr. Erica Pettigrew, MD, JD, MPH. This important issue is hosted by the APHA Committee on Women’s Rights. Dr. Helvey is currently completing her MPH at the Gillings School of Public Health during her 2nd year/Chief year with PMR.
