Resident Physician

UNIVERSITY TRACK RESIDENT

Hi! My name is Annie Chen (she/her) and I am grateful to be here at UNC to learn how to be the best family medicine doctor. I am the eldest daughter of three and am originally from Greensboro, NC. My grandparents raised my siblings and I in China for a few years before we came back to NC. They instilled in me many values that I still hold onto today, including the interconnection of lifestyle and health.

After high school, I attended UNC-Chapel Hill for college where I studied public health nutrition. After college, I served as a MedServe Fellow at ECU family medicine center and found my passion for family medicine, as it was the intersection of my interests in nutrition and lifestyle interventions, serving underserved populations, and building relationships. I came back to UNC-Chapel Hill for medical school where I developed additional interests in refugee and migrant health, teaching, and reproductive health.

Outside of work, you can find me watching reality dating shows, spending time with my partner, trying to keep houseplants alive, biking, and trying new recipes.
