UNIVERSITY TRACK RESIDENT

My name is Jade Mulvey, and I’m incredibly excited to be part of the UNC Family Medicine team! I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where I spent much of my time exploring the Wasatch Mountains. Running became a major part of my life, and I had the privilege of competing for the University of Utah during college. Through the highs of athletic success and the challenges of injuries and mental health struggles, I developed a deep interest in the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of my community.

During medical school at the University of Utah, my interest shifted from sports as I discovered my passion for working with underserved populations and older adults. Whether in the small desert town of Moab or the urban expanse of Salt Lake City, I was drawn to primary care and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients from all walks of life.

I’m moved across the country to train at UNC because of the kindness of the people and their dedication to promote equity for all patients with special commitment to populations at risk in a time of rapid changes of healthcare. In addition to deep community roots, UNC also provides robust academic support to explore all of my interests within family medicine.

Outside of medicine, I love running (the trails here are incredible!), visiting local farmers markets, and spending time with my wonderful partner.
