Biographical Information
Dr. Doughton is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Notre Dame and medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his Family Medicine residency at UNC as well as a career development fellowship with a focus on office based procedures and point of care ultrasound. When not working, Dr. Doughton loves spending time with his wife exploring North Carolina, particularly anything outdoors.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Doughton has a special interest in underserved and Latino care, with his outpatient work primarily at Prospect Hill Community Health Center Clinical. He is also interested in the evolving field of point of care ultrasound, or practitioners using ultrasound at the bedside to enhance the physical exam. Finally, Dr. Doughton has an interested in outpatient procedural care and is establishing a regular procedures clinic with a focus on underserved patients through the Piedmont Health system.
