Biographical Information
Dr. Irvin is an Assistant Professor in the Family Medicine and Sports Medicine Department at UNC. He is a Georgia native that has called North Carolina home. Dr. Irvin earned his medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) in Atlanta. He continued on to complete his Family Medicine residency training at MSM where he served as chief resident during his final year. Dr. Irvin completed his Sports Medicine fellowship at UNC. Through his studies, he has developed a passion for serving the underserved and studying the intricacies of sports injuries. When he is not working, Dr. Irvin loves spending time exploring North Carolina with his wife and dog, watching his Atlanta sports teams, and running.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Irvin’s interests are sports medicine, ultrasound guided injections, regenerative medicine, non-operative management of arthritis, chronic tendinopathy, acute injuries, and overuse injuries. Interests also include primary care, community-based medicine, community service events and mentorship.
