Laura Higginbotham, MD graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine (2012) and subsequently completed four years of General Surgery residency training at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. During her surgical residency, she received NIH T32 National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Training Grant funding for her work performing preclinical drug studies in collaboration with industry, Emory Transplant Center, and Yerkes National Primate Research Center. Dr. Higginbotham is currently enrolled in the Epidemiology MPH program at Gillings School of Public Health with a focus on pharmacoepidemiology and social epidemiology. She plans to practice epidemiology at a federal or state agency.
