Biographical Information
Matt Zeitler, MD joined the faculty in July of 2019. He practices full scope family medicine, including obstetrics and an array of procedures. He cares for patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatric patients, in both outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings. Dr. Zeitler currently serves as an Associate Program Director to our Family Medicine Residency.
Dr. Zeitler attended Ithaca College for undergraduate school and earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His desire to be a full scope family physician drew him to the University of North Carolina for his residency training. Prior to joining the faculty, he completed a career development fellowship at UNC as chief resident.
In his free time, Dr. Zeitler enjoys spending time with his family, his adopted dog Jackson, and friends, hiking, running, traveling, and exploring the Triangle area. He loves the southern food scene and outdoor recreation.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Zeitler is a clinician educator. His practice includes care of a full spectrum of patients, with a special interest in maternal child health, pediatrics, women’s health, LGBTQ health, and procedures. He enjoys teaching and mentoring residents and medical students in each of these arenas. Dr. Zeitler sees patients at the Family Medicine Center, at UNC hospital, and at Chatham Hospital.
