Sameer Arora, MD finished his medical school from Delhi University, India in 2010 and completed Internal Medicine Residency at Medical College of Georgia at Augusta, Georgia in 2014. He practiced as an internist in an underserved area in North Carolina for 3 years and simultaneously worked extensively in the field of cardiovascular research. His work has involved epidemiology and outcomes cardiovascular research in the academic setting and he has been involved with the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study at UNC. His focus in the field of cardiovascular disease has been in the field of coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease. He is also interested in global health, especially improving care in low-income countries. He will be enrolled in MPH in Epidemiology program at UNC to develop his interests in research and epidemiology. After residency in preventive medicine, he will carry on as a cardiovascular disease fellow with a future goal of balancing clinical and research interests as an academic cardiologist.
