Shiara Ortiz-Pujols MD, MPH graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. She initially intended to become a surgeon specializing in burn reconstruction, but found that she was more interested in global health, health disparities, and social determinants of health. She has extensive research and consulting experience, and hopes to work at both a national and international level on social determinants of health and trauma-related injuries.
