Give to the Faculty Development Fellowship
Giving options for the Faculty Development Fellowship
- The Faculty Development Fellowship Fund: supports the faculty development fellowship program at UNC, which has graduated over 500 academic family physicians, many of whom are leaders in their field. Supporting the program ensures its longevity and enables the provision of scholarships.
- The Jane Arndt Fund: Jane Arndt, MA, joined the Department of Family Medicine in 1981 and spent 25 years guiding and mentoring young faculty members. Before retiring in 2010, she served as the Associate Director of the UNC Faculty Development Fellowship. Her love and dedication to the Faculty Development Fellowship inspired the classes of 2009 and 2010 to collectively establish the Jane Arndt Endowment Fund to support excellence in faculty development. This endowed, named lecture is given annually to honor Jane and her many contributions and continue to provide impactful lifelong learning.
- The Peter Curtis Fund: Dr. Peter Curtis, an internist from England, became one of UNC’s first Family Physicians in 1976, helping to establish both the Department of Family Medicine and the Faculty Development Fellowship. Facing a lack of formal training programs, he built his own path—seeking mentors, resources, and knowledge to become a leading academician. In 2024, the UNC Faculty Development Fellowship launched the Peter Curtis Lecture to honor his legacy. This annual event features innovators advancing primary care through research, leadership, and mentorship. The Fund supports continued growth in academic Family Medicine, inspired by Dr. Curtis’s enduring vision and pioneering spirit.
