Chelsea graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish for the Professions. She completed an undergraduate honors thesis with the Berg lab performing a quantitative analysis of variants associated with conditions screened for in newborn screening. Chelsea is continuing her time in the Berg Lab as a research technician working on the NCNexus project where she prepares samples for next-generation whole exome sequencing. In the lab, Chelsea enjoys learning about new technologies and the exciting opportunity for their application in a clinical setting. Chelsea left the lab and is now a medical student at UNC.

As an undergraduate, Chelsea was a member of the UNC Varsity Rowing Team where she served as a Co-Captain for the 2015-2016 season and earned 2nd-Team All Conference and Academic All Conference recognition. Outside of the lab Chelsea enjoys spending time outdoors with her golden-doodle and is currently a volunteer at the UNC Hospital in the Cystic Fibrosis Unit.
