Daniel graduated cum laude from Davidson College where he majored in Mathematics. He has previously worked with Dr. Nina Sherwood investigating Spastin function in Drosophila melanogastser. He now works in bioinformatics and computational biology with the NCGENES project. He is particularly interested in the detection of structural variants from the clinical next-generation sequencing project to supplement currently available information used to find genetic disorders underlying clinical phenotypes. Daniel is leaving the Berg Lab to attend medical school at UNC.
