Dr. Jen McGlaughon earned her B.S. in Biology from Baldwin Wallace University in 2007, her M.S. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from East Carolina University in 2010, and her Ph.D. in Genetics from Cornell University in 2016. Jen’s research background is in Drosophila genetics, but as a graduate student at Cornell she became interested human genetics and how advancements in genetic technologies impact society. Jen is currently a biocurator for the Clinical Genome (ClinGen) Resource where she specializes in biocurator training. She has been involved in gene curation for cardiomyopathy, colon cancer, and inborn errors of metabolism as well as variant curation for inborn errors of metabolism. She is also a member of the biocurator working group, which provides education and training to ClinGen biocurators.
