Marwa Elnagheeb graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Biology and a Master’s in Public Health. While at UNC, Marwa’s research has focused on three areas: (1) the impact of genetic variation and epigenetics on differential responses to adverse prenatal exposures, (2) the effects of maternal host nutrient status on infectious disease development, and (3) the role of socioeconomic factors in maternal and child health disparities.

Marwa joined the Berg Lab in 2021, where she is a ClinGen senior coordinator. She guides expert panels in determining the clinical validity of gene-disease associations.
