Sabrina Powell earned a B.S. in Applied Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a M.S. in Marine Sciences from UNC-CH, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from UNC-CH. Her graduate research focused on microbially-mediated methods to clean up contaminated soils. She has extensive experience working in science education as a curriculum designer. In Florida and Texas, she designed and taught science-themed professional development workshops for K-12 teachers.

 

Currently, Sabrina is the Education Director for the Program for Precision Medicine in Health Care (PPMH). PPMH is developing education initiatives for a broad range of stakeholders – patients, clinicians, graduate students, undergraduate students, high school students, and the general public.

 

Outside of the lab, Sabrina enjoys playing piano, baking, and hiking.
