Tabitha Wilson graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Professional Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Her love for teaching led her to serve as a Supplemental Instructor for Organic Chemistry through UTC’s Center for Academic Support and Advisement, later advancing into an administrative role as a Supplemental Instruction Assistant (SIA). There, she helped build a collaborative and supportive community within the SI program.
She also worked as a microbiology laboratory technician, gaining hands-on experience that deepened her understanding of the scientific method. Her favorite undergraduate research project explored the rheological properties of antibiotic-resistant E. coli, combining her interests in microbiology and biophysics.
Beyond academics, Tabitha served as President of UTC’s student chapter of The Wildlife Society, where she fostered interest in wildlife and environmental conservation.
Tabitha recently entered the next phase of her journey and is currently a Graduate Research Assistant and ClinGen Coordinator for the cancer genetics clinic at UNC. She is excited to gain new experiences and continue her pursuit of a career in Genetic Counseling. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and taking care of her bunnies.
