I am interested in how cellular senescence arises in healthy cells and how that process can drive tissue level age-related disease. I am particularly interested in how senescent cells interact with their healthy neighbors to produce new senescent cells or dysfunctional cells; a process called paracrine senescence. I study the protein level changes that occur during early middle and late stage senescence using high-content and time lapse microscopy to understand these processes.
