Dr. Harrop led the manuscript “Do Biological Sex and Early Developmental Milestones Predict the Age of First Concerns and Eventual Diagnosis in Autism Spectrum Disorder? published in Autism Research. The study details sex differences in diagnosis and early developmental markers. Despite females receiving later diagnosis of ASD, biological sex was not predictive of age of diagnosis. However, sex and language variables contributed to both age of diagnosis and age of first concerns.
