Claire Gentile is a 2nd year DPT student at UNC-Chapel Hill. She grew up in Hillsborough, NC and attended Virginia Tech where she received her B.S. in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, B.S. in Psychology, and minors in Adaptive Brain and Behavior and Integrative Health and Wellness. In college, she served as a campus tour guide and a research assistant evaluating the effects of exercise and diet on rodent behavior, yoga’s effect on biomarkers of anxiety, and the predisposition of substance use disorders on food addiction. Currently, she is the Social Media Chair and a member of the Professional Development Committee in the Student Physical Therapy Association (SPTA), while working with a community member with multiple sclerosis. She is honored to be a Neuro STEP UP scholar to grow as a physical therapist in order to best serve her future patients.
