Dr. Lauren Little received the American Occupational Therapy Foundation Dissertation Research Grant Award in February 2012.

The award is aimed at promoting the development of occupational therapy researchers who are enrolled in programs that value strong mentorship and whose careers are dedicated to advancing science in occupational therapy.

Little defended her dissertation, “Home and Community Activities: Dimensions and Associations with Patterns of Sensory Response among Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders,” on April 3 and received her PhD in Occupational Science at the Graduate School hooding ceremony on May 12.

She received her occupational therapy degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, in 2007, and began the doctoral program at UNC in 2008. Dr. Grace Baranek was chair of Lauren’s doctoral committee.
