Alex was born and raised in Durham. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Miami University of Ohio in Early Childhood Education. She has worked as an in-home behavior therapist for children with autism in Hilton Head, South Carolina, as well as a special education teacher for public schools in Citrus County, Florida and Wake County, North Carolina. Alex joined the Preschool Writing Project in early 2018. When Alex is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
